Welcome to the Savannah Children's Theatre message board. This is a place to discuss things going on at the theatre, or whatever you would like! I thought since there were so many new people I would make a guide. Here is a guide around the forum written by myself and Micaela. I edited it a little and added some things. So here it is! (Note to Micaela: Not trying to be a copy cat just putting it in the Guest section were people would likely look and modifying it.)

Well, for starters let's go over how to start a topic and how to reply to a topic. To reply to other's posts in a topic, just press the little "Reply" button below the most recent post, which will be at the bottom of the screen. Topics that have new posts in them wil be bolded, or have a new icon next to them so you don't have to worry about sifting through topics to find new posts to reply to! To start a topic go in the upper right on one of the four boards (Guest/Visitors, Show Info, General Discussion, and Adult Discussion- sorry not sure if that is the name of the adult topic) and click new topic.

To edit a post go to the right corner of your post and click edit. Rather than posting 2,3,4....times in a row just edit your post. However there are times when you might want to post a new post. If a topic hasn't been posted in in quite a while it's best to make a new reply, because people won't notice your edit.

If you wish to delete a post, the easiest way to do this is edit the post and make the message read delete. Vann will go through every once and a while and prune (clean the forums of dumb posts and stuff like that). However don't make this a habit because it isn't a very good idea to do on a daily or even weekly basis.

You have a profile with information about yourself, which you can edit. First at the top click my profile or click your name. Then at the side you will see many options. With these options you can edit your profile. You can make a signature, add an avatar, add an avatar caption, password changes, etc.

There is a calendar on the message board. Just click calendar at the top to view it. The calendar has events, birthdays, etc. Members can add an event if needed. However, be aware it will start a topic about that event.

You can also send personal messages. These are messages that only you and the recipient can read. Just press the little "My Messages" button at the top of the screen. Then you can ead and write all the personal messages you want!

A couple basic things about posting. We ask that you keep your posts relevant to the topic and that your posts have some quantity to them. Posting things like "hey" or "yeah" usually just clog up the forum. Please be kind to others and try to get along with other message board users.

A quick explanation of the different groups of boards:

Guests/Visitors- This board can be viewed by anyone, regardless of whether they have an account or not. It is not posted on often, and when it is, it is often a question about the message board.

General Discussion- Everything and anything. This is where you discuss movies, books, games, or what you had for breakfast. I would like to point out the "Random Cronies" thread. This is the only thread which the "Keep on Topic" rule can be streched. Most of the interesting chat happens in that topic.

Show Info- Originally started for the purpose of cast/prop lists and scheduling questions, the Show Info boards have become a place to discuss how opening night went, how rehearsals are going, and a breeding ground for inside show jokes.

Adult General Discussion: This forum is rarely used because we don't have lots of adults here. However only adults should use this section, it's not really for kids.

There are only a few people who regularly frquent the message boards. These people include Sarah Jones, Noah Cannon, Joshua Glover, Me, Jack Wagner, and Mrs. Jenn. Also, Vann. Vann is the moderator, which basically translates into "What Vann says is law." :-) We will be happy to answer any questions, so if you have any direct them to us. Also there is the help button, which you can use for of course help. So maybe I don't need to be saying all this, but I like to add my own stuff.

In closing, if you have any others questions, just ask! We don't bite. Promise.
