— Grandparent about SCT Classes
OUR PAST
Since our launch in 2004, we have worked to create a collaborative atmosphere where families can make theatre together. We have offered classes in Creative Dramatics for PreK-12th grades, Dance for Musical Theatre, Aerial Arts, and opportunities for children and guardians to perform side by side. Our theatre field trip program Let’s Put on a Play has served over 154,000 students across Georgia and South Carolina, and according to audience polls, 70% of those students experienced live theatre for the first time during those visits. As of this writing, we have produced over 375 plays and musicals for the Savannah community.
OUR PRESENT
SCT serves our community through three unique programs
School field trips
After school classes
Community theatre productions
Activities are divided by age not ability, so each class is customized based on the needs of the students present. We are committed to creating an inclusive & diverse environment where all are welcome.
OUR FUTURE
As we enter our third decade, Savannah Children's Theatre will continue to create more opportunities for people of all ages to experience live theatre. We are adding a location in Pooler, Georgia, launching a touring program to take quality children's theatre to rural communities & producing new theatre works by local artists. We wish to be a long-lasting part of this community that will inspire, educate & entertain for generations to come.
